Blimey, let’s just go straight into the new year on a serious note then, shall we?
Mental Health and the Future of Humanity
OK, so the reason for this rather ‘ominous post’ (don’t worry, it isn’t), is that some of our clients are doing some pretty amazing stuff in the world of mental health - and for those of you who know me, this has been a huge area of my life (I’ve done three TEDx talks and written a book about it).
There is a tsunami of mental health issues on the horizon and a lot of conversations to be had to settle minds.
One of our clients has created characters (gnomes, in case you’re wondering), who are going to be talking about mental health and horticulture and going into schools to connect with the younger generations.
Another of our clients is taking her trauma therapy experience to a global audience and getting exposure to other therapists as a result.
Another has written a book and is creating courses to get to more of her clients.
And we’re in the process of creating an app for our own materials to help those who need assistance with their wellbeing.
We’re all doing our bit to keep mental health and wellbeing in the limelight and keep the conversation going.
It would have been easy for me to say that I believe the future of mental health and wellbeing for humanity would be something like a new approach to how we think about mental health.
In fact, I believe that there are multiple approaches to mental health and wellbeing and all of these approaches are as important as each other.
The future, I believe, lies in the fact that we now have the right tools to bring our knowledge out to everyone, rich or poor, young or old… and by using every means available to us, all of the different platforms and types of media, we can make sure that no one is left out in the cold, or alone with their thoughts and without hope.
I believe that we are at a tipping point in dealing with wellbeing and new technology is the key to our success.
It’s not what we are sharing, but the WAY we are doing it that will make a difference in the long run.
We’re dedicated to making this new technology part of the way that we help our clients, and we’re starting with a free webinar showing anyone who is interested in how one of our clients is doing just this:
It’s on February 17th at 12pm noon EST and features Dr. Susan Spicer. If you would like to hear about the future of mental health, sign up HERE and watch live or get the replay:
In the meantime, have a great week, learn loads, love heaps and pass it on...
